ISLAMABAD: The Islamic Ideological Council has given conditional permission to women to go on Hajj without Muharram.
The Islamic Ideological Council says that the scope of Mehram Hajj without a woman is subject to certain conditions.
The Islamic Ideological Council has said in a written reply to the Ministry of Hajj’s inquiry that a woman who is not afraid of travel and Hajj riots or danger can go for Mehram Hajj without any fear.
The council gave its opinion that according to the jurisprudence of Jafariya, Maliki and Shafi’i, a woman can perform Hajj without Mehram. According to the jurisprudence of Jafariya, Maliki and Shafi’i, a woman who has the companionship of reliable women can go on Hajj, but the permission of the woman’s parents is mandatory if she is present or married.
The Islamic Ideological Council said that according to Hanafi and Hanbali jurisprudence, Hajj is not obligatory on a woman if Muharram is not available.
