KARACHI: The second day of technical sessions of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Mission for the Sindh Coastal Resilience Project (SCRP) was held on September 24, 2026, at the Planning and Development Department’s PCMU office in Karachi.
The session focused on the Livelihood and Community Infrastructure Component of the project, which is being implemented by the Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh, through a dedicated Project Management Unit.
Mr. Nazeer Ahmed Memon, Project Director, PMU-SCRP/PC, PCMU, P&D Department, chaired the session. Officials from the PMU-SCRP and members of the IFAD Mission also participated.
The IFAD Mission was led by Mr. Ghulam Nabi Mari, Country Programme Coordinator, IFAD.
During the session, IFAD subject specialists delivered technical presentations on key areas related to the implementation of IFAD policies under the SCRP. The presentations were followed by detailed discussions and an exchange of views between the mission and project teams.
The technical sessions provided an opportunity to review important aspects of project implementation and strengthen coordination between IFAD and the Government of Sindh.
The Sindh Coastal Resilience Project aims to support vulnerable coastal communities through improved livelihoods and community infrastructure, contributing to greater resilience in climate-affected areas of Sindh.
