PHILADELPHIA: Scientists have identified eight health measures that can slow the body’s aging process by up to six years.
6500 people with an average age of 47 years were examined in this study, which was presented at the American Heart Association conference held in Philadelphia, USA.
According to American experts, taking care of weight, blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure along with healthy sleep and eating routine, physical activity and not smoking can slow down the aging process by six years.
The researchers said that people with the best cardiovascular health had a biological age (the rate at which people age each year) that was six years less than their actual age.
Donald Lloyd-Jones, chair of the writing group, said: “The research findings help us understand the relationship between chronological age and biological age, helping us to understand how healthy lifestyles can help us live longer. can
Everyone wants a long life, he said, and more importantly we want a healthy long life so we can enjoy it while achieving a good quality of life.
