ISLAMABAD: The first-ever Board of Studies meeting of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Health Services Academy (HSA), Prime Minister’s National Health Complex, was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, with detailed discussions on academic and administrative matters related to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) programme.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor HSA Prof. Dr. Shehzad Ali Khan. Dean School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Prof. Dr. Tahir Aqeel briefed the participants on various academic, teaching and administrative matters concerning the Pharm-D programme. Several important recommendations were considered and approved by the Board.
The meeting reviewed the Pharm-D curriculum, academic standards, teaching arrangements and other key programme-related matters. Members also examined proposals aimed at aligning pharmaceutical education with contemporary professional requirements and ensuring quality education and practical training for students.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening academic standards, practical training and research activities to prepare pharmacy graduates for evolving healthcare and pharmaceutical-sector needs.

The establishment of the Board of Studies marks an important step towards strengthening the academic framework of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and developing a Pharm-D programme aligned with modern educational, professional and research standards.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting quality pharmaceutical education, professional competence and research-oriented learning to contribute effectively to Pakistan’s healthcare system.
