A study has found that eating four apples a week can reduce the risk of death from heart diseases by nearly 40%. Bananas are also highly beneficial, reducing the risk of premature death by up to 30%. Consuming both fruits three to four times a week can lower the chances of early death by 50%.
The research, published in the Frontiers in Nutrition journal, involved 2,184 middle-aged men and women with high cholesterol levels. Over a period of more than 10 years, the study revealed that individuals who ate three to four apples a week had a 39% lower chance of dying from any cause compared to those who did not eat apples. Similarly, the consumption of bananas had similar effects.
