In Kaag Jatti village of Haripur district, the traditional festival “Jashan-e-Kaag” began with national and international tents participating enthusiastically. Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jihan attended the opening ceremony of the festival. hundreds and thousands of spectators gathered and enjoyed the thrilling event.
Kaag Jatti is where horse riders from different regions organize a spectacular tent-building event under the patronage of Hazara regional sports officers. Regional sports officials Tauseef and Aqib and all the staff involved the players in this weekly activity.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Fakhar Jihan, Haripur RSO Haripur and Abbottabad district sports officials thanked them for their efforts. He also announced that a venue would be built for this festival.
Provincial Assembly Member Adil Khan, Director General Sports Abdul Nasir, Deputy Commissioner Haripur Muhammad Khan and District Joint Director Sports Raziullah Khan Betni, officials and other people participated in the festival. In the Kaag festival, traditional sports such as javelin, horse riding, stone collection, gymnastics, poetry collection, wrestling and bull racing are part of the general festival.
Councilor Fakhar Jahan said cultural festivals are the main way to keep our traditions alive. He also announced that a volleyball court would be built in the Haripur youth play village.
He said, this festival is very important to maintain our identity in the world. Syed Fakhar Jihan said that every part of the province is a strong cultural combination with its unique characteristics. “We will try to preserve our culture for future generations,” he said.
Syed Fakhar Jihan also observed horse riding and javelin competition in the exhibition and welcomed the organization of this event to show local culture.
He also announced that he would pay $1,000,000. 50,000 for the first post, Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 for the second and third players and Rs. 100,000 for the first place team, 60,000 for the second place team and 30,000 for the third place team.
He said that such festivals would be held in future and such events would be strongly encouraged.
In his welcome speech, RSO Hazara Ahmad Zaman thanked the community and the players who participated in various traditional festival activities.
He said, like every year, the Kaag festival in Jatti village is an annual event where national and international tent players participate.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhre thanked Jahan for announcing the construction of a special venue for the Kaag festival and a volleyball court in that Kaag Jatti village. and thanked the district sports officers of various districts of the Hazara region for their efforts in the successful implementation of the annual Kaag festival.
Earlier, Malik Ijaz Khan presented a traditional selbilis to the guests, followed by recitation of Al-Quran and National Anthem by Hafiz Aqib Khan.
When the Chief Guest announced the commencement of Kaag Festival-2024, pigeons, balloons and fireworks were released.
