Viral TikToker Hareem Shah sought and received police protection in London after being harassed and threatened by individuals who allegedly defrauded them of more than £5,000, the social media star revealed in an interview with a local news publication.
Last week, videos and pictures of the influencer from anonymous accounts began circulating on social media, which Shah vehemently denied as deeply fake. “They are all British Pakistanis behind this and they only came after me after I helped a girl who was being blackmailed,” Shah said, calling his accusers members of the “mafia”.
“They all have ties to different political parties,” she added. “Maybe they thought the UK was like Pakistan and they could get away with it, but I dealt with them legally. How could these people lie like this and resort to such tactics, especially during Ramazan?
Shah, 32, originally from Bahawalpur, left Pakistan a year ago and first moved to Manchester before moving to London to escape harassment. Refuting allegations of theft leveled against her on social media, Shah replied: “If I actually stole someone’s money, wouldn’t they go to the police and try to investigate me? Why would they try to harass and threaten me and vilify me on social media instead?
After filing a defamation suit against those who criticized her on social media, Shah hopes that appropriate action will be taken.
“I am very grateful to the police who are protecting me and also providing me financial assistance,” Shah said. Using her wide reach to advocate for women, the social media star also revealed that she has joined a women’s rights group. Shah has often been embroiled in controversy ever since he gained a large following on TikTok and became active on X and YouTube.
