Hamdard University Islamabad Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit

ISLAMABAD: A grand ceremony was organized at the Hamdard University Islamabad Campus to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day, bringing together faculty members, students and university administration in a celebration of patriotism, national unity and the sacrifices behind the creation of Pakistan.

Campus Director Professor Dr. Umar Shahbaz Khan attended the ceremony as chief guest. The event began with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by the national anthem, creating an atmosphere of national pride and enthusiasm.

Faculty members presented Milli Naghmay (national songs), adding colour and patriotic spirit to the celebrations. A special quiz competition was also organized between faculty members and administrative staff, featuring questions about Pakistan’s history, the Pakistan Movement and prominent national personalities.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Mumtaz Jaffery said independence was a great blessing achieved through countless sacrifices by the nation’s elders. She emphasized that the younger generation represented Pakistan’s future and should contribute to national development through education, skills and responsible citizenship.

She also highlighted the importance of national unity, tolerance and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Chief Guest Professor Dr. Umar Shahbaz Khan highlighted the significance of Independence Day and said the creation of Pakistan was the result of a long struggle and immense sacrifices.

He urged faculty members and students to make the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline, given by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, an integral part of their practical lives.

The Campus Director stressed that universities had an important role to play in national development and encouraged students and faculty members to contribute through education, research, innovation and positive engagement with society.

The ceremony also paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the leaders of the Pakistan Movement and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the creation of the country.

Participants expressed their resolve to play their role in strengthening Pakistan’s security, development, prosperity and stability.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the progress, prosperity, security and stability of Pakistan, leaving participants with a renewed sense of patriotism, national unity and commitment to the country’s future.
