MARDAN: Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) has finalized three-day Eid ul Azha sanitation operation plan for 38Neighborhod councils of Mardan.
Additional Secretary Development Local Government Fazale Akbar visited WSSCM. He also chaired the meeting regarding Eid ul Azha. The Manager Municipal Services informed the Additional Secretary Development that a comprehensive Eid ul Azha plan has been devised according to which Mardan city has been divided into four zones and collection points have been set up at New Ada, Par Hoti, Shamsi Road and Kaskorona. On the first day of Eid ul Azha, the Eid gahs will be cleaned and swept before Eid prayers while the cleanliness operation will be started from 12:00 pm and will be continued till the entire city is cleaned of waste and animal remains.
He told that high-tech modern machinery would be used in the cleanliness operation and animal remains would be shifted to a safe place for safe disposal.
He was briefed that during the Eid operation, the complaint cell will be remained open till late night and in case of any inconvenience, the citizens are requested to record their complaints on helpline 1334, 0314-4228999, and 0937-840892.
He further added that 600 employees will be deployed and 70 different types of sanitation vehicle will take part in the Eid operations.
Citizen Liaison Cell of the company has already launched an awareness campaign in all union councils for public awareness to dump waste at designated points. Distribution of Awareness brochures has been started in various parts of the city.
Additional Secretary Development Local Government Fazale Akbar expressed his satisfaction on the Eid ul Azha sanitation plan and stated that provincial government has already cancelled the holidays of all the staff and no negligence would be tolerated during the occasion of Eid ul Adha. He further stated that strict action will be taken against any official found absent.
For the efficient and effective execution of the Eid ul Azha monitoring teams have been constituted. Biodegradable bags shall also be distributed among the citizens to manage animal remains and offals.
