In a bizarre incident in the village of Hamidpur, Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh, the groom took his wedding party and left after a delay in serving food, leaving the bride waiting in her wedding dress.
Reports suggest that the bride’s marriage to a young man named Mahtab had been arranged seven months ago, and the wedding celebrations on December 22 were in full swing. The bride’s family welcomed the guests with sweets and later served food. However, one of the groom’s relatives started complaining about the delay in serving the meal.
Despite the bride’s family trying to calm the situation, the groom’s relatives accused the bride’s family and decided to leave. That night, the groom married one of his relatives instead. This news shocked the bride’s family, who immediately went to the police station to file a complaint.
The bride’s family claimed a financial loss of 7 lakh rupees, including 1.5 lakh rupees in dowry sent to the groom’s house. They filed an FIR against five members of the groom’s family and demanded legal action. The bride’s brother, Rajoo, mentioned that the SP assured them of action and instructed the police to contact them, but no one had reached out yet.
