Islamabad: Dear Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Husein ef Kavazovic, invited Professor Dr. Samina Malik, Chancellor of the International Islamic University, Islamabad to her office in the university’s new campus.
During the meeting, issues related to the expansion of bilateral educational ties between the IIUI and the universities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the field of Islamic studies, Aima education, jurisprudence and law, were discussed.
Appreciating the role of IIUI in serving the Muslim world, the Grand Mufti said that there are a number of learned scholars, bureaucrats, Aims and researchers in Bosnia who have benefited from IIUI. He said the university has similar goals to Islamic studies faculties at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also expressed appreciation for the deep friendship between the peoples of Bosnia and Pakistan. The Grand Mufti was accompanied by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emin Cohodarevic.
At the meeting, it was agreed that a memorandum on mutual cooperation in the field of education and exchange of experience will soon be concluded with the aim of practically strengthening these bilateral ties.
During the meeting, IIUI Rector extended a warm welcome to the Grand Mufti and heartily congratulated him on his upcoming receipt of the Sitare e Quaid e Azam Award on March 23, conferred by the President of Pakistan. She appraised him about the university’s services, role, vision and future goals and informed him about the university’s faculties and the presence of foreign teachers and students.
On the occasion, the Grand Mufti presented a rare manuscript of the Holy Quran, while the IIUI Chancellor presented a university souvenir to the Honorable Grand Mufti.
