The National Highway Authority has increased the toll tax rates, which will be applicable from January 5.
On national highways, the toll tax for a car will be 60 PKR, for a van it will be 100 PKR, and for a bus, it will be 200 PKR. For 2- and 3-axle trucks, the toll tax will be 250 PKR, while larger trucks will be charged 500 PKR.
In addition, toll taxes on various motorways, including M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35, have seen a significant increase. For example, the toll tax for a car on the M1 motorway (Islamabad to Peshawar) has increased from 460 PKR to 500 PKR. On the M3 motorway (Lahore to Abdul Hakeem), the car toll tax has risen from 650 PKR to 700 PKR. Similarly, on the M4 (Rawalpindi to Faisalabad and Multan) the toll tax for a car has increased from 850 PKR to 950 PKR, and on the M5 motorway (Multan to Sukkur), it has gone up from 1,050 PKR to 1,100 PKR.
The toll tax for the M14 (DG Khan to Hakkla) is now 600 PKR, while for the E35 (Hassan Abdal to Havelian Manshera), it is 250 PKR. Toll tax for larger vehicles on the M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35 motorways has increased to between 750 PKR and 5,550 PKR.
