HARIPUR: Ghazi Barotha Taraqiati Idara (GBTI) has organised a plantation drive in District Haripur under its Self-Help Initiative, aimed at promoting environmental awareness, strengthening community participation and encouraging local ownership of tree plantation and conservation efforts.
Community members actively participated in the plantation activities and pledged to take responsibility for the care and protection of the newly planted saplings to support their healthy and sustainable growth.
As part of the broader initiative, more than 11,000 fruit plants are being delivered to communities, supporting both environmental sustainability and household livelihoods. The distribution of fruit plants is expected to contribute to greener communities while providing potential economic and nutritional benefits for participating households.
GBTI said community involvement is essential for ensuring the long-term success of plantation initiatives, as local ownership can help improve the survival and protection of planted trees.
Through its community-led approach, GBTI continues to promote environmental conservation, expand green spaces and encourage people to play an active role in protecting natural resources.
