Fujian: In China, professional employees have adopted a unique trend to cope with work stress, listing their bosses, annoying colleagues and jobs for sale on second-hand e-commerce platforms.
On a platform called Xianyu, many people sell their jobs, bosses and colleagues to get rid of work stress and daily mental and physical fatigue.
Some of the listings on the site include numerous “annoying” bosses, bad jobs and hateful colleagues costing between 400,000 to 900,000 yuan. One employee wrote that he is selling a colleague for 3,999 yuan who speaks sarcastically a lot. He offers to teach how to deal with such a person and provides ten tips on how not to become a scapegoat at work.
Another person wrote that he was selling his horrible boss for 500 yuan. The employee claims that the boss often criticizes him, which causes psychological stress.
It is important to note that this is all done as a joke. Sellers ensure that ads do not lead to actual cash transactions. If someone tries to buy a “product”, the seller will usually cancel the deal or outright reject the purchase attempt.
