Former international cricketer Sajjad Akbar died at the age of 63 following a heart attack which was confirmed by his brother Amir Akbar.

The cricket community mourns the loss of an outstanding athlete and mentor.

A respected figure in Pakistani cricket, Sajjad Akbar has represented the country in two international tournaments. Apart from his short international career, he also made a significant impact in domestic cricket, playing 182 first-class matches.

Known for his prowess on the field, Sajjad Akbar is also a four-level coach who has been actively involved in training and nurturing young domestic cricket talent.
