TOBA TEK SINGH: The Punjab Food Department has assured residents of Toba Tek Singh that sufficient stocks of wheat and flour are available across the district, with authorities taking all necessary measures to ensure an uninterrupted supply of the staple commodity.
Speaking during a meeting with District Anjuman-e-Sahafiyan President and columnist Muhammad Zahid Majeed Anwar, District Food Controller Hafiz Muhammad Amjad Munir said the department was implementing an effective strategy in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision to maintain the continuous availability of flour throughout the district.
He said there was no shortage of flour or wheat, adding that existing wheat reserves were adequate to meet public demand and prevent any supply disruptions.
The official said the Food Department was conducting daily monitoring of flour mills, warehouses, and the supply chain to ensure smooth distribution. Strict action, he added, was being taken against hoarding, profiteering, and attempts to create artificial shortages in the market.
Hafiz Muhammad Amjad Munir urged citizens not to pay attention to rumors and instead rely on official information regarding the availability of essential food items. He reiterated that the Punjab government remained committed to providing relief to the public and ensuring food security across the province.
He said close coordination among the district administration, flour mills, and the Food Department had helped maintain a stable supply system, while adequate reserves had also been secured to meet future demand.
The District Food Controller reaffirmed the department’s commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of quality flour and said any public complaints regarding availability or distribution would be addressed promptly.
Officials maintained that effective planning, continuous market monitoring, and strict enforcement measures were helping stabilize prices and ensure the steady availability of essential food commodities in the district.
