The first ever successful air ambulance movement was carried out from Mianwali to Rawalpindi on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Halima Bibi, a paralyzed woman who fell from a roof in Mianwali, was quickly airlifted to Rawalpindi Hospital, which ensured that she received timely medical intervention.
The transfer was carried out on the directive of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who emphasized the critical importance of observing the ‘golden hour’.
The Air Ambulance Service will operate across Punjab and ensure that no one is deprived of essential treatment due to lack of resources,” said Maryam.
According to the spokesperson of the rescuers, today’s intervention in Mianwali was part of the trial phase of the air rescue service. A formal opening of the service is expected soon. This pioneering effort represents a significant step forward in improving emergency medical care in Pakistan.
Halima Bibi’s family expressed their deep gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and praised her for what they described as a compassionate and life-saving intervention. “Maryam Nawaz Sharif was an angel of mercy for us,” they said.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari lauded the initiative and noted the speedy realization of what was once thought impossible. “In less than four months, we have achieved what was considered unattainable for 76 years,” Bukhari noted. “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to deliver on every promise and deliver results in record time.”
