Rawalpindi — A Field General Court Martial has sentenced former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty on multiple charges.
Charges under Field General Court Martial
Proceedings began on August 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act and continued for 15 months. The accused faced four charges: engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act in ways deemed detrimental to state safety, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing wrongful loss to individuals.
Verdict and sentencing
After extended legal proceedings, the court found Faiz Hameed guilty on all charges. The sentence was formally promulgated on December 11, 2025.
Legal rights and appeal process
Officials stated that the Field General Court Martial complied with all legal provisions. The accused was provided full rights, including the ability to appoint a defence team of his choice. He retains the right to appeal the verdict at the relevant forum.
