Fiber optic cable cuts cause internet woes for Pakistani users

Fiber optic cables connecting Singapore to Pakistan and Europe have been cut.

According to sources, the submarine’s fiber optic cable has been cut five times and it will take a month to repair it.

According to Pakistan Telecommunication (PTA) sources, internet services were affected on the eastern side due to fiber optic cables being cut. Pakistani users are facing major problems in accessing the internet.

PTA sources claim that Pakistani users will face problems during evening hours.

Meanwhile, PTCL sources say that less than 10 percent of the traffic comes from the east side and therefore the internet traffic is diverted to alternative sources.
