FIA tasked to act against power, gas thieves

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was tasked on Thursday to launch a crackdown on electricity and gas thieves across the country and tighten the noose around those involved in the Hundi and Hawala trade and human trafficking.

Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi, presiding over the meeting, directed the FIA ​​to take strict legal action against electricity and gas theft after being informed that the agency had already formed special teams as per instructions given to it in the previous meeting.

The minister also received a report on the Greek ship accident submitted by the FIA. The minister ordered that all elements involved in this tragedy must be brought to justice. He also ordered strict action against anyone involved in human trafficking.

The minister also directed to take further action against persons involved in the Hundi or Hawala trade. The minister also reviewed the progress on the pending promotions of FIA officials and directed them to resolve the pending promotion cases urgently.
