Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Industry and Production, Rana Tanwar Hussain has said that Pakistan will be equipped with modern research and technology for agriculture to achieve its true potential.
Speaking during his visit to the Federal Agricultural Research Center (NARC), federal minister Rana Tanwer said the purpose of his visit was to assess research standards. “Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. “The welfare of farmers and the development of agriculture is the priority of the government now,” he said.
The Minister said that it is difficult to increase crop yields without the supply of quality seeds. “The optical industry is very important in all areas of life. “Agriculture will be equipped with research and modern technology,” he said.
Federal Minister Rana Tanwer said that the government will provide all resources to the farmers.
The minister said that the federal and provincial governments and all institutions including research centers should play their role in agricultural development. “Adequate measures should be taken by agricultural experts and scientists to increase agricultural production per hectare,” he said.
He said the need of the hour was to use modern technology to make the country self-sufficient in food. He said Pakistan has great potential to increase agricultural production.
Federal Minister Rana Tanwer said that the growth of agriculture will help the country’s economy through exports. He said, the development of scientific methods in agriculture is important because modern methods will increase crop yield. “It is very important to improve and modernize the economy to develop the nation. “By developing agriculture, the entire economy can grow,” he said.
Federal Minister Rana Tanwer said that 70% of the total population of Pakistan is directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. “The introduction of modern technology in agriculture is necessary to ensure food security and increase crop yields,” he said.
