The Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) conducted a Tax Awareness Session at the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), Peshawar. The activity was conducted on the instructions of the Chairman FBR Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services, Ms. Tamina Aamer, aimed at educating taxpayers and promoting voluntary tax compliance across the business community.
FBR engages business community through outreach efforts
Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary Tax Education & Facilitation was led the Federal Board of Revenue team and in his opening remarks, he presented a detailed overview of the mandate, functions, and reform initiatives of FBR. He highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between taxpayers and the tax administration through education, facilitation, and constructive engagement. This was followed by a presentation by Second Secretary Tax Facilitation Mr. Abdul Rehman, who briefed participants on key tax procedures, including the process of filing online income tax returns.
Business leaders and chambers participate in the session
Senior office bearers of the Sarhad Chamber, including President Mr. Junaid Altaf and other executive members, attended the session. Representatives from the Peshawar Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry were also present on the occasion.
Participants engage in Q&A on tax compliance
The business community exhibited keen interest in the session and actively engaged with the FBR team. Participants raised various queries related to tax compliance, which were addressed comprehensively by FBR team. The participants appreciated FBR’s continued efforts to ensure transparency and promote a culture of tax compliance and trust. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, after which souvenirs were exchanged between the two sides.
