LAHORE: Chairman Planning and Development Board Punjab Dr Naeem Rauf met with James Robert Okoth, Officer-in-Charge and Acting FAO Representative in Pakistan, to review the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)’s ongoing support and future collaboration with the Punjab government.
The meeting focused on cooperation in the agriculture sector, climate-resilient farming and food security across the province.
The two sides discussed the importance of strengthening agricultural systems and supporting farming practices that can better respond to climate-related challenges.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to review ongoing areas of FAO support in Punjab and explore future collaboration to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen food security and support sustainable farming.
The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Punjab government and international development partners in addressing emerging challenges facing agriculture and food systems.
