FAISALABAD: Around 120 children took part in a special environmental awareness gathering at Presbyterian Church, Hajwery Town, Faisalabad, as part of the ongoing Creation Care Sunday celebrations under the Green Church Initiative Phase III.
The event aimed to help children understand the importance of protecting nature and caring for the environment through education, creative activities and practical action.
The children participated in Biblical teaching, an environmental quiz and a range of creative activities, including drawing, colouring, clay modelling, card-making and tableau performances. These activities helped them explore environmental protection in an engaging and simple way.

Mr. Jamshed Gill, CCT Lead at Tearfund UK, also shared a biblical reflection on Creation Care. He encouraged the children to adopt simple environmental practices in their daily lives and play their role in protecting nature at home, in schools, churches and local communities.
The gathering highlighted the importance of educating children about environmental responsibility from an early age. Such activities can help young people understand that protecting trees, reducing waste and keeping their surroundings clean are practical ways to care for the planet.

The celebration concluded with a tree plantation activity, giving the children an opportunity to turn their environmental learning into practical action.
The initiative also demonstrated how educational institutions, faith communities and young people can work together to promote environmental awareness and build a stronger culture of care for nature.
