The extravagant wedding of former federal minister Faisal Vawda’s daughter was certainly the talk of the town this weekend.
During the celebrations, Vawda made substantial improvements to the community, funding road repairs, covering manholes, installing street lights and paving pavements in his locality, according to The Express Tribune.
More than 1,000 private guards provided security, backed by aerial surveillance from private helicopters, and land was reportedly acquired to park more than 1,000 vehicles for Faisal Vawda’s daughter’s wedding.
The event was graced by dignitaries including former President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Aga Khan Foundation Chairman Sultan Alan. Chief ministers, governors, tribal chiefs, local and foreign businessmen and current government officials were also present.

The lavish affair included over 30 courses at some events and more than 40 courses at others. Private jets carrying businessmen landed at the Karachi airport and Vawd’s entourage of singers such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan used a private jet to transport guests.
Amidst Vawda’s political endeavours, there was a heartwarming moment when he danced with his daughter during a hina ceremony, captured on a viral video. Fireworks lit up the sky, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Political scientists have noted the dual focus on the wedding and Vawd’s political influence.
Recognized as a political force, Vawda’s ability to unite political opponents during marriage reflects his formidable stature. Scholars consider him a one-man army and cite his precise political views on TV shows.
After Imran Khan, Vawda is speculated to hold significant influence in Khan’s party, with his political acumen seen as key to national and provincial seats in the upcoming elections.
