ISLAMABAD: H.E. Jamal Baker Abdullah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Chief of Staff H.E. Naveed Ash Admiral Raff at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad. Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of concern, including bilateral cooperation in maritime affairs and regional security.
It is right now. Prime Minister Gemal Baker Abdullah briefed the Chief of Staff about the important role played by the Government of the Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in promoting Pan-Africanism in the region and promoting the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation among Africans.
The Ambassador also informed the Navy Commander that the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia completed the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, attended by more than 49 African heads of state and leaders of international organizations.
Roosevelt talked about Ethiopia’s role in ensuring regional stability by working to combat terrorism.
Roosevelt Ethiopia’s regional integration initiatives, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, different ports and energy exports to neighboring countries were also discussed at the meeting.
On this occasion, Ambassador said that Roosevelt Ethiopia recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Somaliland in accordance with international law.
He said Ethiopia has always done it.
On the other hand, Naval Forces Commander Admiral H.E. Navid Ashraf recognized Ethiopia’s role in regional integration through various initiatives.
The Ethiopian government congratulated Roosevelt on the success of the AU meeting.
The Chief of General Staff used the opportunity to acknowledge the importance of the African Union Summit. Like Pakistan, the Ethiopian government is very important in terms of relations between the parties with the legacy of one of the ancient civilizations.
He said that both countries are the heirs of centuries of prosperity and have great potential for growth and development. Cooperation between the two parties also includes maritime activities.
