The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) organized the “Ethio-Pakistan Business Forum” at the LCCI Center to encourage the business community to participate in the trade delegation. Ethiopia from May 26 to May 31, 2024 is coordinated by the Embassy of Ethiopia, Islamabad.
The Ethio-Pakistan Business Forum was attended by a large number of entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy including manufacturing, textiles, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, surgery, agriculture, chemicals, construction, tourism and ICT.
Upon arrival, H.E. FDRE Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Representative to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Jamal Beker Abdula LCCI Chairman H.E. was warmly welcomed by Mr. Kashif Anwar and his team.

He invited the business community of Lahore to join the trade delegation of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and explore trade, commerce and investment opportunities in the home country and opportunities.
The Ambassador praised the government of Pakistan for implementing the policy of “See Africa and Attract Africa” to develop trade relations with Africa, a market of more than 1.4 billion people.
Ethiopia is the gateway to Africa, said the Ethiopian Embassy through the Islamabad Ethiopia Initiative, which has helped Pakistan’s business community connect with partners in Africa by focusing on entering and working in Africa.
“For this purpose, within a year of the establishment of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad, we have conducted an exchange of business groups between the two countries,” he said.
The Ambassador said that in March last year, the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad welcomed more than 75 Pakistani businessmen to Ethiopia to help build relations with partners in Ethiopia.
Finally, more than 50 businessmen and industrialists from Ethiopia visited Pakistan in May 2023 to promote bilateral trade between the two countries.
H.E. Ambassador Jamal Baker said Ethiopian Airlines launched its operations in Karachi last year, allowing the Pakistani business community to enter and operate in Africa.
On the other hand, LCCI Chairman H.E. FDR led by Mr. Kashif Anwar H.E praised the economic development in Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s prime minister, Abiy Ahmed, successfully built a thriving economy at home through major reforms.
He also assured the ambassador that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce would support the planned trade and business delegation to Ethiopia.
Then H.E. Ambassador Jamal Baker Abdullah held an interactive session with the Lahore business community and answered questions from the Ethiopian economic, trade and commerce delegation regarding the coordination of the Embassy next month.
