SARGODHA, September 11, 2026: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Sargodha has intensified enforcement against air pollution, conducting inspections of stone crusher units across the district to check compliance with environmental regulations.
During the inspections, EPA teams found several units operating without adequate dust control systems, water sprinkling arrangements and proper covering measures. The deficiencies were contributing to dust emissions and deteriorating air quality in surrounding areas.
The non-compliant units were sealed on the spot, while fines were also imposed in accordance with EPA standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The enforcement campaign is aimed at reducing dust emissions from stone crushing operations and improving air quality across Sargodha, particularly amid growing concerns over smog and particulate pollution.
EPA Sargodha said strict action would continue against units failing to comply with required environmental safeguards, stressing the importance of effective dust-control measures to protect public health and the environment.
The campaign carries a clear message for industrial operators: controlling dust is essential to protecting Sargodha’s air and building a cleaner, healthier city.
