Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Chinese Consul General Yang Undundong at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi on Thursday morning. The meeting focused on discussing issues of mutual concern and the security of Chinese citizens.
During the meeting, Minister Naqvi informed the Consul General about the security measures taken by Chinese citizens in Pakistan, especially in Karachi, and reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to protect the lives and interests of the citizens of China in our country.
“The security of Chinese nationals is very important to us,” Naqvi said, adding that strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place to regulate the movement and protection of Chinese nationals.
“It is our duty to provide safe security for Chinese citizens.”
Addressing the issue of security threats, Naqvi said that enemies are trying to spoil the Pakistan-China friendship and Pakistan will try to spoil the longstanding friendship. He stressed that Pakistan is determined to foil the conspiracy that threatens the strong ties between the two countries.
“No conspiracy to harm Pakistan-China friendship will succeed,” the minister said.
In response, Consul General Yangan Undundong said he was satisfied with the comprehensive security plan outlined by Minister Naqvi. He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Chinese citizens and stressed the importance of continued cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all stakeholders.
In addition, Home Secretary Khurram Agha participated in discussions with Chinese Consulate officials.
