US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu is scheduled to testify before a congressional committee today (Wednesday), where he intends to address various aspects of Pakistan’s political landscape.

On the other hand, bilateral issues were discussed during the meeting between US Ambassador Donald Bloom and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, US State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel said.
Patel noted that discussions were also taking place between the US ambassador and Pakistan’s finance minister along with other members of the finance team.
Patel emphasized the importance of preventing Afghanistan from becoming a safe haven for terrorists and stressed the need for continued cooperation.
