Lahore: It is widely believed that women talk more than men. Now, a study conducted by the University of Arizona in the United States has confirmed this notion.
In the research, 2,197 participants wore a small recording device around their necks for a week while carrying out their daily activities.
The analysis of the recordings revealed that, on average, women spoke 13,349 words per day, whereas men spoke 11,950 words. This means that women spoke 1,073 words more than men.
However, psychologists argue that this difference is not significant, debunking the negative stereotype that women are excessively talkative.
Another fascinating finding from the study was that the least talkative person spoke only 100 words per day, while the most talkative individual spoke 120,000 words daily—and that person was a man!
