Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan at the Organization of Islamic Conference summit in Gambia on May 2.
According to the details, Dar will attend the meeting in Punggol, the capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. “The summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is called at a time when the war against Palestine continues,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This will be an important moment for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to have a strong, joint, and unanimous statement on Palestine.
Dar will discuss the ongoing genocide in Gaza and raise the issue of the right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to self-determination at the conference.
The spokesman said he would present the country’s views on Islamophobia, stressing the need for unity and solidarity in the Islamic world.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to fight climate change, terrorism, and contemporary global issues, as the spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, Dar will hold bilateral meetings with other leaders and foreign ministers at the summit.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday appointed Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The appointment was approved through a notification issued by the Cabinet.
