The group led by Dr. Rami Waheed Al-Duli, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Syrian Arab Republic, visited the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad. The group discussed with officials of the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and ways of scientific research cooperation in universities.
Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Faculty of Social Sciences and Registrar of Quaid-i-Azam University welcomed the QAU delegation. Dr. Salma Malik gave detailed information about QAU, External Links, University Curriculum, Student Organization, Faculty and Research Center. Heads and principals of various departments and schools attended the briefing.
Deputy Prime Minister S.I. In his delegation’s speech, QAU expressed its full support for academic cooperation with Syrian universities. He highlighted Pakistan’s strong bilateral and diplomatic relations with Syria and said that Quaid-i-Azam University, as an Islamic country, wants to establish and strengthen academic cooperation in natural, biological and social sciences.
Dr. Rami Waheed Al-Dhulli, Deputy Minister of Education, identified several areas of cooperation and offered online learning opportunities in Arabic for university students and teachers. H.E. Mr. Ramez Alraee, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Pakistan, discussed his previous visit to the university and discussed how Syrian students can benefit from the various degree programs offered by QAU, including MPhil/MS and scholarship opportunities. Both sides discussed ways to cooperate and signed an agreement.
Dr. Manal Suleiman Sakr, Director, Department of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Director of Scientific Research, Department of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Director of International Cooperation, Dr. Aqil Saeed Mahfud, Representative, Assistant Department of Higher Education, Said Khadra, Director of Education, Department of IT, Mr. Najib Suhail Salak and Mr. Ragib Ali Al-Jidi, Director of Education of the Syrian Ministry of Education were also present. The delegation was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Higher Education and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
