Defeat in the Semi-Final: Rashid Khan’s Statement Released

After Afghanistan’s loss to South Africa in the T20 World Cup semi-final, a statement from Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan was published.

Afghanistan won the tournament and elected to bat first in the semi-finals at Trinidad’s Brian Lara Stadium. However, the entire team was dismissed for just 56 runs in 11.5 overs. Nine players did not reach double figures, only Azmatullah Zazai scored 10 goals.

To achieve the target, the South African team won in 8.5 overs for the loss of just one wicket.

After the one-sided defeat, captain Rashid Khan wrote on social media that this T20 World Cup will always be remembered. Every player in the team is commendable and proud of the whole team.

He further added that they will start their journey from this point and will come back stronger next time.

Afghanistan team captain Rashid Khan also thanked everyone who supported the team.
