Pakistan Super League (PSL) star David Wiese was named man of the match as Namibia cruised past Oman in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Speaking at the post-match ceremony, David Wise said: “I’m two years old tonight. I don’t have a few years left (laughs). It’s an emotional evening. (Batting and bowling in the Super Over) It helps. I have a feeling of the game and in Super Over I know I took some shots….then with the ball, I felt like taking the ball and executing, the pitch was difficult, it didn’t play like we thought it would, but we adapted well.”
He explained his bat-and-ball strategy: “Two-step is a difficult ticket to enter. You have to spend some time before capitalizing. (Goal) It is difficult to set a good target because if you chase 180 you play differently. But if you let it bottle the way they do, you bring them back into the game.
Commentators called Namibia’s victory a “huge escape for Namibia” as they panicked after taking control.
“They almost swallowed it. Before saving themselves. Wiese was on top of it all. He took three wickets in the game. Then he was found before sealing the ball with a run in the Super Over,” the commentator of the match concluded the game.
