ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Clean & Green Islamabad Movement, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, met with CDA Member Environment Abdullah Khurram Niazi to discuss joint initiatives aimed at making the federal capital cleaner, greener and more environmentally sustainable.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to launch a comprehensive tree plantation campaign across Islamabad as part of efforts to enhance the city’s green cover and promote environmental sustainability.
The participants also discussed measures to raise public awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection, strengthen the city’s waste management system, improve parks and green belts, and implement collaborative initiatives under the Clean & Green Islamabad Movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari said a clean and green Islamabad is essential not only for improving the quality of life of its residents but also for enhancing Pakistan’s national image and international reputation. He emphasized the importance of effective collaboration between government institutions, the private sector and civil society to promote environmental conservation and social responsibility.
Abdullah Khurram Niazi appreciated the contributions of the Clean & Green Islamabad Movement and assured full support for initiatives aimed at environmental protection, tree plantation and the beautification of the federal capital.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to jointly undertake future environment-friendly activities, public awareness campaigns and sustainable development projects.
Nadia Mabood, Focal Person for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), also attended the meeting.
