ISLAMABAD: Chairman PTI will challenge the decision of the trial court to reject the indictment and stay the proceedings in the cipher case.
According to sources, after the decision of former Prime Minister and Chairman PTI Imran Khan to challenge the decision of the Islamabad High Court, his lawyers have prepared an application, which is likely to be filed in the Supreme Court today.
Chairman PTI’s lawyer Hamid Khan will approach the Supreme Court, challenging the Islamabad High Court’s decision to dismiss the charge sheet on October 26.
According to the text of the petition, the Supreme Court will be requested to annul the decision of the Islamabad High Court on 26 October and the decision of the trial court on 23 October. The charge sheet was filed on October 23 by a special Official Secrets Act court. Chairman PTI had challenged the trial court’s order of October 9 regarding the provision of complete documents.
The petition stated that the challan was distributed without waiting for the decision of the Islamabad High Court. The trial court framed the charge sheet 6 days after the documents were furnished. Charges can be filed after 7 days of issue of challan.
