Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has spoken about the ongoing debate about the Indian cricket team’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan.
Speaking on Private TV channel, the pace ace backed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) stand and stressed that the tournament should go ahead as planned, regardless of India’s participation.
Ali expressed confidence in the success of the event and stated that cricket would continue regardless of India’s involvement. “If we can travel and participate despite security concerns, then the Indian team should be able to come,” he noted.
He also hinted that while Indian players may be interested in playing in Pakistan, their participation depends on the decisions of the Indian government and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The fast bowler underlined PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s firm stand on the matter and said that the Champions Trophy 2025 will indeed be hosted by Pakistan. “If India decides not to come, that is their decision,” Ali added.
Meanwhile, the BCCI reiterated its reluctance to send the Indian team to Pakistan, citing government restrictions as the primary obstacle. Indian officials suggested the possibility of a hybrid model or a neutral venue as an alternative solution to facilitate the tournament.
