Securing tickets for the ICC Champions Trophy has turned into a fierce battle for cricket fans.
According to a statement by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the sale of physical tickets for matches in Pakistan began on February 3. Courier company TCS, responsible for distributing physical tickets, set up counters at 108 outlets across 26 cities. However, due to the overwhelming number of fans, obtaining tickets became a challenging task.
The sale of physical tickets started at 4 PM Pakistan time and continued until 6 PM. While some fans managed to get their tickets, many had to return home empty-handed. The courier company issued a maximum of four tickets per national ID card.
Online tickets booked today will be available on February 6, and home delivery of tickets will commence on February 8. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for 10 matches, including the second semi-final in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, through online platforms and over 100 outlets of the private courier company.
General stand ticket prices start at PKR 1,000, while premium seating in various categories begins at PKR 1,500.
The tournament will be hosted by Pakistan at four venues: Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Dubai. It will kick off on February 19 with the opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi.
