The schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan, is expected to be announced next week. According to media reports, an International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation will visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to review the preparations for the Champions Trophy. During this visit, it is anticipated that the schedule and other important details related to the event will be disclosed.
Sources have confirmed that the tournament schedule has already been shared with member countries, and this visit will give the ICC an opportunity to assess preparations and logistics before the event. A meeting on November 11 will be attended by cricketers and other key figures.
According to the proposed schedule, the Champions Trophy 2025 will take place from February 19 to March 9. A seven-day period from February 12 to 18 is set as the “support period” for teams to participate in warm-up matches and engage in media and promotional activities. Additionally, March 10 has been designated as a reserve day for the final.
The last Champions Trophy was held in 2017, where Pakistan, under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed, defeated traditional rivals India to claim the trophy.
As per the proposed schedule, Pakistan is placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B consists of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will need government approval for traveling to Pakistan.
The Champions Trophy 2025 matches will be held across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven matches, including the final. Karachi’s National Stadium will host the opening match and one semifinal, while Rawalpindi will host the other semifinal along with five matches. The semifinals are scheduled for March 5 and 6, with the final set to take place in Lahore on March 9.
