ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja said on Thursday that the elections were 100 percent transparent and peaceful and the election process continued without interruption.
Speaking to the media during a visit to the Election Commission of Pakistan headquarters, he claimed that no citizen was prevented from casting his vote.
He said that in case of any connection problem, the concerned presiding officer will attend the Returning Officer’s office and provide the Form 45. He said that after uploading the Form 45 in the Election Management System (EMS), the form will automatically be received by the Returning Officer (RO) where it will be internet service restored.
He said that according to the law, if the request for extension of time was made by noon, the time would be extended. He said that the time has been extended in three polling stations in Gujarat as the respective ROs have requested for the time extension.
