Lahore: The much-anticipated 20th International Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally kicked off today with a grand opening ceremony in Bahawalpur. Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), has proudly partnered with the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) as the title sponsor of this prestigious event.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by COO CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, Secretary Tourism Punjab Farid Ahmed Tarar, Managing Director TDCP Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir, and Commissioner Bahawalpur Musarat Jabeen, alongside senior officials from CBD Punjab, TDCP, and the local government.
This year’s rally has attracted male and female racers from across the country, competing in various categories, including Stock, Prepared, Dirt Bike, and Truck. Spanning from February 12 to February 16, the event not only brings thrilling motorsport action but also serves as a platform to showcase Punjab’s rich culture and promote tourism.
During his address, COO CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, highlighted the significance of the rally, stating, “Today is not just about a motorsports event; it is a day of making history. CBD Punjab is proud to present a positive image of Punjab to the world. The Cholistan Jeep Rally holds a unique position in Pakistan’s motorsports landscape and represents the cultural and historical richness of our province.”
He further added, “We extend our best wishes to all participants and hope this historic event highlights new opportunities for tourism and investment in Punjab. Collaborating with TDCP, CBD Punjab is committed to promoting tourism and showcasing Punjab’s vibrant heritage to the world.”
