Cantonment Board Clifton Launches Cleanliness Week with Awareness Walk at Clifton Beach

KARACHI, PAKISTAN: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has launched Cleanliness Week in Clifton Cantonment with an awareness walk at Clifton Beach, aiming to promote public participation in sanitation and environmental protection.

The campaign, launched in line with the directions of the Director of the Military Lands and Cantonments Department, will continue until October 18, 2026.

The awareness walk brought together CBC senior management, staff members, schoolchildren and community representatives, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility for maintaining clean public spaces and a healthy environment.

During the campaign, CBC will intensify cleanliness and sanitation activities across residential and commercial areas, with a focus on the effective collection, removal and disposal of solid and liquid waste.

The initiative will also feature cleanliness awareness sessions for schoolchildren, poster campaigns and community engagement activities designed to encourage responsible waste disposal, strengthen civic awareness and increase public involvement in keeping neighbourhoods clean.

Clifton Beach, a popular coastal destination in Karachi, is among the public spaces where cleanliness is important for protecting the surrounding environment and maintaining a healthy coastal setting.

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, CBC said it remained committed to improving civic services and maintaining a clean, healthy and sustainable environment throughout Clifton Cantonment.

The campaign highlights the role of local authorities, educational institutions and residents in reducing waste and promoting better sanitation practices.
