Breast cancer awareness seminar organized at Police Training College

LAHORE: A comprehensive seminar on breast cancer awareness was organized at the Police Training College, Chuhng, Lahore, in collaboration with Hemal Pharmaceutical. The event was attended by a large number of female trainees and police officers.

DIG Establishment-I, Dr. Suleman Sultan Rana, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized that the early diagnosis of breast cancer is crucial for saving lives. He stressed the need to ensure free screening and regular medical check-ups for the institution’s staff, especially women, as a matter of priority.

He further said that such health awareness programs at the Police Training College are extremely beneficial for the well-being of the staff and should be held regularly.

Dr. Faiza Rehman Lodhi, delivering a detailed lecture on “Understanding of Breast Cancer”, explained that recognizing early symptoms and receiving timely treatment can increase recovery chances by up to 90 percent. She elaborated on the stages of breast cancer, modern treatment methods, and preventive measures.

Dr. Jaweria Sajid provided practical guidance to women regarding Breast Self-Examination (BSE). She trained over 700 female trainees in the correct method of self-examination and emphasized that women should make regular self-checks a habit to detect the disease in its earliest stage.

On this occasion, Mr. Sharif Sajjad Bhatti, CEO of Hemal Pharmaceutical, announced that the company would provide free breast cancer screening facilities for female trainees of the Police Training College. He said Hemal Pharmaceutical is committed to promoting public health and disease prevention awareness among the community.

He reaffirmed the company’s resolve to continue organizing awareness campaigns and health camps in collaboration with public sector institutions in the future.

At the end of the event, appreciation shields were presented by Hemal Pharmaceutical to the faculty members and trainees of the Police Training College.
