TikTok’s return in the US has sparked uncertainty, leading other social media apps to seize the opportunity. First, X (formerly Twitter) introduced a TikTok-like vertical video feed, and now BlueSky has followed suit.
BlueSky has introduced a dedicated tab and feed for video content, allowing users to easily find TikTok-style vertical videos. Instagram has also launched an editing app called ‘Edits’ to compete with TikTok’s CapCut.
In a statement, BlueSky highlighted its focus on video content. The new feature includes custom feeds where users can scroll through vertical videos. As with other feeds, this new video feed can be pinned. It is located beneath the search tab on the BlueSky platform.
Additionally, BlueSky has developed the AT Protocol for this feed. X has also launched a similar video tab in the US, displaying videos in a vertical user interface, much like TikTok.
