BISP chairperson Rubina Khalid meets IDPs in Bara while reviewing registration and medical facilities.

Bara, Peshawar: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited the Al-Haj Market PDMA Registration Point in Bara Khyber. During the visit, she met internally displaced persons (IDPs) belonging to Tirah and reviewed the registration process of deserving women through the Mobile Registration Van (MRV) deployed at the site.


Senator Rubina Khalid interacted directly with deserving women, listened to their concerns, and directed the concerned staff to ensure the immediate resolution of complaints. She emphasized that women should be provided complete guidance so that they do not face any inconvenience during the registration process.
Referring to the struggle and vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the Chairperson BISP encouraged deserving women to remain courageous and raise their voices against any injustice. She reaffirmed that BISP stands with deserving families in difficult times and is making all possible efforts to alleviate their hardships.


The Chairperson stated that she is fully aware of the challenges faced by IDPs. She noted that despite security concerns and advisories, she chose to visit the area, following the legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who always believed in standing among the people. She added that it is her responsibility to stand with her brothers and sisters during times of pain and distress.


She further informed that a BISP Mobile Registration Vehicle has also been deployed at the site to address issues related to identity documentation. Facilities for obtaining Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and children’s B-Forms are being provided. She explained that these documents are required for registration in BISP, and women who lack them can conveniently avail these services on the spot.


While speaking to media representative, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that the primary objective of her visit was to engage directly with women, understand their problems, and ensure effective measures for their resolution. She highlighted that the Mobile Registration Van has been deployed to facilitate women who wish to register in the Benazir Income Support Programme.


The Chairperson clarified that women who meet the prescribed poverty score criteria will be included in the programme and will receive all benefits available under BISP.


During the visit, Senator Rubina Khalid also inspected the medical camp established at the site, reviewed the healthcare facilities being provided, and assured full cooperation in addressing related issues.


Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa BISP, Mr. Alaf Jan Afridi, was also present on the occasion.
