BATTAGRAM: The Forest Department has seized around 40 cubic feet of illegally cut timber during an ongoing crackdown on timber smuggling in the district.
The action was carried out in the Bald Kot area during a routine patrol under the supervision of SDFO Battagram Junaid, following special directions from DFO Hazara Tribal Forest Division Battagram Rafiq Ullah.
Forest officials recovered 13 pieces of Kahil timber during the operation. The seized wood had a total volume of approximately 40 cubic feet.
The confiscated timber was shifted to the Divisional Forest Office Battagram for further legal proceedings after completion of the required formalities.
The Forest Department said it is committed to protecting forests and natural resources and that action against illegal tree cutting and timber smuggling will continue under its zero-tolerance policy.
The department also urged citizens to play their part in protecting forests, which are important for biodiversity, climate resilience and the long-term health of the environment.
