Netflix has announced bad news for offline Windows users by disabling downloads for offline viewing. According to foreign media reports, Netflix has removed the download option for users who watch content offline.
Netflix recently updated its app for Windows, which added to the woes of offline users as they were unable to download content from Netflix.
A user shared a screenshot of the company’s update on X’s social media platform and said that the company introduced the update as ‘New Windows App Experience’. This update includes access to live shows and the introduction of Netflix’s popular ad support plan since launch.
Unfortunately, with this update, the company has disabled the download option for offline users, users said.
Following the tweet, the company clarified that users can still watch movies and TV shows offline on supported mobile devices.
The update is coming soon, which means Windows users still have time to watch videos offline. It’s worth noting that these changes haven’t rolled out to every user yet, which suggests that the company may roll out the update regionally.
It is not yet known when this update will reach Pakistan, but it is clear that the days of viewing content offline on this platform are numbered.
