Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam has apologized to his opening partner Saim Ayub for the crucial run-out during the chase against Quetta Gladiators in the ninth season of the PSL.
A misunderstanding between them in the ninth over marred their strong start, leading to Saim’s wicket and defeat for Zalmi at 91-1 in 8.4 overs.
In the post-match ceremony, Babar acknowledged his mistake, calling the run-out a turning point and expressing regret to Saim.

“The run was the turning point,” said Babar.
“We were building a good partnership and we were looking for the partnership to last long into the innings. Unfortunately it was my fault and I have apologized to Saim,” he added.
Despite their promising partnership, Quetta won by 16 runs, capitalizing on the struggle of Peshawar’s middle order after an unfortunate run out.
