Islamabad: Federal Minister for Industries and Production and National Food Security and Research Rana Tanwar Hussain met the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Hazar Farhadov. At the meeting, issues of common interest were discussed between the two dignitaries.
Federal Minister Rana Tanwar Hussain said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have strong brotherly relations and said that Pakistan emphasizes the importance of its relations with Azerbaijan. He said that increasing investment in industrial development, manufacturing and agriculture is the priority of the current government and urged Azerbaijani investors to explore the investment potential in Pakistan.
He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s views and direction in the field of industry and agriculture were given special attention. “Agriculture is considered as the backbone of Pakistan. We get a lot of foreign exchange every year because of agriculture,” he said. Practical steps are being taken to increase agricultural exports to earn foreign exchange and ensure food security.
Emphasizing the need for cooperation in areas of interest, the ambassador said Pakistan has huge investment opportunities in agriculture, industry and manufacturing.
